Questions using combustion reaction
Problem 1
Which equation represents a combustion reaction?
- CaCO₃ → CaO + CO₂
- CH₄ + 2O₂ → CO₂ + 2H₂O
- AgNO₃ + NaCl → AgCl + NaNO₃
- 2Na + Cl₂ → 2NaCl
Answer and explanation
CH₄ + 2O₂ → CO₂ + 2H₂O
A fuel (methane) reacting with oxygen to give carbon dioxide and water is complete combustion.
