Gay-Lussac's Law — Science definition

At constant volume, the pressure of a fixed amount of gas is directly proportional to its Kelvin temperature: P₁/T₁ = P₂/T₂.

Where it is taught

In use

Gay-Lussac's Law freezes the volume — think of a rigid, sealed steel container that cannot expand — and links pressure to temperature, again directly proportional: P₁/T₁ = P₂/T₂.
