Questions using civic responsibility

Problem 1

Does a civic responsibility to examine evidence require agreement with a parent’s policy preference?
Answer and explanation

No. The learner should explain accurate institutions, apply consistent evidence standards, and address serious alternatives. A supported judgment can differ. Academic evaluation should not turn party, religion, family identity, or personal disclosure into a grading criterion.

Response criteria

  • Explain the relevant institution or economic concept accurately; show correct calculations where needed.
  • Connect supplied evidence and stated assumptions to an explained conclusion.
  • Compare feasible options and their effects on different people without stereotypes.
  • Identify a limitation, tradeoff, uncertainty, or condition that qualifies the conclusion.
